Chocolate-covered Strawberries

Strawberries are one of 50 foods with the highest antioxidant content which help ward off chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Being extremely rich in vitamin C, these fruits can be used to make face masks to fight oily skin, as well as nourish and revitalize your skin. Strawberries are acidic in nature and this is effective to remove the excess sebum on skin. They also contain many other vitamins and minerals that are responsible for the overwhelming health benefits.

Strawberries and all the foods that contain strawberries such as jams, ice cream, yogurt, smoothies and milkshakes are delicious as well. You can also whip up a strawberry pie, shortcake.

Or you can create this impressive dessert by just dipping juicy strawberries in sweet chocolate. Especially if you are enjoying a healthy diet but struggling to curb your sweet cravings.

I love how easy these are to make at home. With a project as simple as "take strawberry, dip in chocolate" the quality of ingredients will really make a difference. Make sure to use fresh ripe strawberries and an expensive chocolate..

JK! JK! I used milk chocolate chips. So go ahead and use whatever chocolate you have on hand or prefer.

The only trick to make superb chocolate-covered strawberries is that the strawberries must be very, very dry. Otherwise, the chocolate coating wont "stick" to the strawberry. So after rinsing the strawberries, pat them dry with a paper towel and lay them out on another until they are completely dry.

Here's a quick step by step picture tutorial to simplify the already simple instructions:

How To Make Chocolate-covered Strawberries

6

Ingredients

  • 1 basket fresh strawberries

  • 1 cups dark/milk/semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1/4 tsp coconut oil or softened butter (optional)

  • 1/2 cup white chocolate for drizzle (optional)

Directions

  1. Gently rinse strawberries and dry well on paper towels.

  2. Line a cookie tray with waxed paper.

  3. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl & add coconut oil or butter (if using), stirring until combined & the chocolate is a runny consistency.

  4. Dip each strawberry into chocolate mixture; allow excess to drip back into bowl. Place on waxed paper-lined tray or cookie sheet to let the chocolate set.

  5. To prepare the white chocolate drizzle, melt white chocolate chips in microwave .

  6. Drizzle melted white chocolate on strawberries with a spoon

  7. Refrigerate uncovered about 15 mins or until chocolate is firm, or until ready to serve so chocolate does not soften (if made with oil, chocolate will soften quickly).

Happy Baking!
